Non-Invasive Cardiology
Diagnostic Services

We use modern technology to understand exactly what’s happening in your lungs:

Interventional Cardiology
Pulmonary Function Test (PFT)

A Pulmonary Function Test helps us understand how well your lungs are working. It checks how much air you can breathe in and out and how smoothly oxygen moves through your lungs. This simple, painless test is very helpful in diagnosing asthma, COPD, and other breathing problems, and in tracking your progress over time.

Cardiac Critical Care
Chest X-ray & CT Scan

Chest X-rays and CT scans give us a clear picture of what’s happening inside your lungs. They help detect infections, fluid buildup, lung damage, or unusual growths. While an X-ray gives a quick overview, a CT scan shows detailed images, allowing us to find problems early and plan the right treatment for you.

Heart Surgery Support
Bronchoscopy

Bronchoscopy allows the doctor to look directly inside your airways using a thin, flexible tube with a tiny camera. It helps identify causes of long-lasting cough, infections, or blockages. In some cases, small samples are taken for testing, which helps us make an accurate diagnosis and choose the most effective treatment.

Preventive Heart Checkups
Sleep Study (Polysomnography)

A sleep study helps us understand how your breathing behaves while you sleep. It records your oxygen levels, breathing pattern, and sleep quality overnight. This test is especially useful if you snore loudly, feel tired during the day, or stop breathing briefly during sleep. It plays a key role in diagnosing sleep apnea.

Treatment Services

Once we know the cause, we focus on effective and long-term care:

Nebulization Therapy
Nebulization Therapy

Nebulization therapy turns medicine into a fine mist that you breathe directly into your lungs. It works quickly to open airways and reduce swelling during asthma attacks, chest infections, or COPD flare-ups. It’s especially helpful for children and older adults who may find inhalers difficult to use properly.

Oxygen Therapy
Oxygen Therapy

Oxygen therapy is given when your body is not getting enough oxygen due to lung problems. It helps reduce breathlessness, improves energy levels, and supports your organs in functioning properly. This treatment can be used for short-term recovery during illness or as long-term support for chronic lung conditions.

CPAP & BiPAP Support
CPAP & BiPAP Support

CPAP and BiPAP machines help keep your airways open while you sleep, making breathing easier and more regular. They are commonly used to treat sleep apnea and certain breathing disorders. Regular use improves sleep quality, reduces snoring, and lowers the risk of heart problems linked to poor oxygen levels at night.

Non-Invasive Ventilation
Non-Invasive Ventilation

Non-invasive ventilation helps support breathing using a mask instead of placing tubes into the throat. It is often used for patients with severe breathing difficulty due to COPD, lung infections, or respiratory failure. This method makes breathing easier, improves oxygen levels, and helps many patients recover without needing more invasive procedures.

ICU Respiratory Care
ICU Respiratory Care

Our ICU respiratory care unit is designed for patients who need close monitoring and advanced breathing support. With ventilators, oxygen therapy, and round-the-clock medical supervision, we manage serious lung conditions safely. A dedicated team of doctors and nurses ensures quick response and personalized care during critical situations.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Pulmonary rehabilitation is a guided program that includes breathing exercises, physical activity, and health education. It helps people with long-term lung problems breathe better and feel stronger. This program also teaches practical ways to manage symptoms, stay active, and improve overall quality of life on a daily basis.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Which is the best pulmonology hospital in Wakad PCMC?

The best pulmonology hospital in Wakad PCMC is NRS Hospital, which offers expert pulmonologists, advanced lung diagnostics, and complete respiratory care. A top hospital should provide treatment for asthma, COPD, lung infections, and sleep apnea using modern technology and personalized care plans for long-term breathing health.

2. What are the common symptoms of lung disease?

Common symptoms of lung disease include chronic cough, breathlessness, wheezing, chest pain, fatigue, frequent lung infections, and difficulty performing physical activities. Some people may also experience bluish lips or fingertips due to low oxygen levels. Early recognition of these symptoms allows timely diagnosis and effective treatment of respiratory conditions.

3. What is a pulmonary function test (PFT)?

A pulmonary function test at NRS Hospital measures how well your lungs work by checking airflow, lung capacity, and oxygen exchange. It helps pulmonologists accurately diagnose asthma, COPD, and other chronic lung diseases. As a key part of respiratory evaluation at the best pulmonology hospital in Wakad PCMC, this test supports early detection and personalized treatment for long-term lung health.

4. Do I need a sleep study for snoring problems?

A sleep study is recommended if snoring is loud and accompanied by daytime sleepiness, headaches, or observed breathing pauses during sleep. A sleep study records breathing patterns, oxygen levels, and sleep stages to diagnose sleep apnea or other sleep disorders. Proper diagnosis ensures correct treatment and prevents long-term complications.

5. What are the warning signs of serious lung problems?

Warning signs include severe breathlessness, chest pain while breathing, coughing up blood, bluish lips or fingers, confusion, and sudden drop in oxygen levels. These symptoms may indicate a serious lung condition or emergency and require immediate medical attention to prevent life-threatening complications.

6. Can children have lung problems?

Yes, children can suffer from lung and breathing problems such as asthma, recurrent chest infections, allergies, and congenital lung conditions. Early diagnosis and proper treatment help prevent long-term complications and improve a child’s quality of life. Pediatric pulmonology focuses on child-friendly care and age-appropriate treatment methods.

7. What is pulmonary rehabilitation?

Pulmonary rehabilitation is a structured program that includes exercise training, breathing techniques, and patient education. It helps people with chronic lung conditions improve their physical strength, reduce breathlessness, and manage symptoms better. Pulmonary rehabilitation also teaches lifestyle changes that support long-term lung health and daily activity performance.

8. “As an MD Medicine specialist, how will you coordinate my care if I need cardiology/nephrology/neurology etc.?”

“I will be your central doctor. I will first assess your full history, examination and reports, make a provisional diagnosis, and start the basic medical management. If I see that you need a super‑specialist (for example cardiologist, nephrologist, neurologist), I will refer you with a clear summary, and later integrate their advice with your overall treatment so that your medicines and follow‑up remain coordinated.”

9. “Can you be my main doctor for diabetes, BP and cholesterol and refer me to superspecialists only when needed?”

“Yes. As an MD in General Medicine, my role is to manage long‑term conditions like diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, thyroid, obesity and metabolic syndrome. I will monitor your reports, adjust medicines, and guide lifestyle changes. I will send you to a cardiologist, nephrologist, or endocrinologist only when there are complications or special procedures required.”

10. “Are my different problems (BP, sugar, kidney, heart) connected to one main disease, or separate issues?”

“Many of these are interconnected. High BP and uncontrolled sugar can damage the heart, kidneys, brain and blood vessels. I will review all your problems together, identify the common underlying causes (for example, long‑standing diabetes or hypertension), and plan a combined treatment so that one disease’s treatment does not worsen another.”

11. “Can you review all my old prescriptions and tell me which medicines are really required now?”

“Yes. Bring all your previous prescriptions, lab reports, and current tablets. I will check for duplications, unnecessary drugs, or unsafe combinations, and then simplify your prescription to the minimum effective and evidence‑based medicines you need at present.”

12. “If I go to multiple specialists, can you help me avoid duplicate or conflicting medicines?”

“This is an important part of my work. Different specialists may focus on their own organ system and sometimes prescribe overlapping medicines. I will cross‑check doses, interactions and repetitions, then adjust the plan so that all your medicines work together safely without unnecessary duplication.”

13. “What vaccinations, screenings or preventive checks (ECG, sugar, lipids, etc.) should I do at my age?”

“Based on your age, gender and risk factors, I will suggest appropriate preventive care: routine blood pressure, fasting sugar, HbA1c, lipid profile; kidney and liver tests when indicated; ECG and possibly echocardiography or stress tests if risk is high; as well as adult vaccines like flu, pneumococcal, hepatitis, tetanus booster, and others when needed. This helps us detect disease early and prevent complications.”

14. “What is my overall risk for heart attack or stroke, and how can we reduce it over the next 5–10 years?”

“We can estimate your risk by looking at BP, sugar, cholesterol, weight, smoking status, family history and existing organ damage. Based on this, we decide how aggressively to control BP, sugar and lipids, whether you need aspirin or other preventive medicines, and what lifestyle targets you should follow (diet, exercise, weight, smoking cessation). The aim is to lower your 5–10‑year risk of heart attack and stroke as much as possible.”
